Who is Black Colleague from Carver: A Life in Poems and what is their importance?

Carver's, "Black Colleague", puts pen to paper in order to describe his anger over the way Carver received preferential treatment. He believes that because Carver graduated from a white college with a Master's degree, he receives more perks than the other black faculty members.
