Birch Trevelyan is the maintenance man hired by Penelope and Alex to repair the doors and locks in the Klingenschoen mansion. He plays loud music and hates to work. He spies on Qwill because of Qwill's interest in Daisy Mull's disappearance since he was the one to actually kill and bury the girl. Birch also conspires with Alex to silence Della and Tiffany, and he tries to kill Qwill on two occasions.
