Bethesda is Gordianus the Finder's housekeeper, slave, and lover. Originally from Alexandria in Egypt, she was bought by Gordianus when she was just a girl, and it is believed that he is the only master she's ever had. Bethesda is described as having a dark complexion and long, dark hair...... a beautiful, sensual woman with a fiery temperament. Over the course of the story, it becomes obvious that she loves Gordianus very much.
