Belinda Cooper, Richard's sister, grew up with her brother at Guardian Farm. She remained on the farm long after her brother left, which in turn, led her father to leave the property to her. When Belinda married Hollis, she allowed him to move into the house he envied his entire life. He is not, however, a loving husband. He isn't kind, he's abusive, and he refuses to call a doctor when she shows signs of suffering from pneumonia. Belinda dies and Hollis ends up with the home he so desperately wanted to own.
