Ariel is the sea nymph that Prospero enslaves after freeing her from Sycorax. Ariel helps Prospero in causing the nobles' ship to sink and tormens the nobles after they arrive on the Island. Prospero frees Ariel the day before the noblemen leave the island for Europe as a reward for services rendered.
