Arianna is Reverend McCune's daughter. She becomes angry with her father when he remarries, and as a result, begins to spend a great deal more time with the Ballard family. Arianna eventually runs away and marries Ben Mercer. She later returns to Waynesboro but is very ill with tuberculosis. She dies soon after.
