Anthony Fairhaven is the president of The Moegen-Fairhaven Group, a real estate development company. Fairhaven becomes fascinated with Leng when he comes across him in the Museum of Natural History archives because of his desire to find a way to prolong life. Fairhaven has feared death since he was a small child, forced to watch his older brother die of progeria, a disease that causes the body to age at an accelerated rate. Fairhaven uses materials from the museum to track Leng down and force him to reveal his formula. Unfortunately, Leng dies before he reveals the formula, so Fairhaven buys the land where Shottum's once stood in order to retrieve the artifacts from Leng's first laboratory. Here Fairhaven finds Leng's old research journals and the skeletons of his victims, giving him the information he needs to conduct similar experiments and recreate the arcanum. Through this research, Fairhaven kills several people by removing their caudus equina, becoming the Surgeon.
