Adolph Hitler was an Austrian, who went onto become the leader of the Social Democrats and the Third Reich. He was a master at creating mass hysteria, widely admired by his followers, and greatly feared by his opposition. Hitler held mass rallies where the crowds cheered wildly as he touted his propaganda. In the meantime, the Nazis usurped one country after another. Although, Hitler was Austrian by birth, he appealed to the German people because he preached the glory of the Germans and all things Germanic. In March 1935, he restored the German army and universal military service, a direct violation of the Versailles Treaty. He went on to make demands on Austria that would result in invasion if they weren't met. This threat led to Austria joining the Reich on April 10, 1938. Hitler used the same threat to obtain the Sudentenland in Czechoslovakia. When he sets his sights on Poland, however, the result is the declaration of war by England. Hitler was able to secure Scandinavia, Belgium, and Holland with very little fighting, though, he met with resistance in France. After taking France, Hilter began bombing London.. believing that he could take over England on his way to take over America.
