In essence, Kaplan is arguing that our educational system in the United States is failing in preparing young men for adulthood. He notes that young men are underperforming in school and graduating without proficiency. He also discusses the narrowing job field in a world where manufacturing jobs are declining and workers are being replaced by technology.

Saul Kaplan is the Founder and Chief Catalyst of the Business Innovation Factory in Providence, RI.
