I'm not an expert on Bollywood movies but I have seen enough of them to make a general statement. There are definite masculine and feminine archetypes that are typical in Bollywood cinema. They are consistent with traditional Indian cultural expectations. The power and control is predominantly male and female characters are generally relegated to the physical attraction that they might possess.
