The Jungle is loaded with similes, here are a few....

"Once within, she turned and began to push the other way, roaring, meantime, “Eik! Eik! Uzdaryk-duris!” in tones which made the orchestral uproar sound like fairy music."

"He plays like one possessed by a demon...."

"Teta Elzbieta is all in a flutter, like a hummingbird..."
