What did Mr Mafutha do to show that he was a puppet of the western white influence

I have not been able to locate the play in its entirety, but what I gather about the character is that he refused to relinquish his place of privilege, and not only continued with his ties to the colonial rule, but supported and furthered it as well.

"It has no place for us ... only for the likes of Mr. Mafutha and the other fat ones in the Chamber of Commerce and the Stock Exchange. Serge, I have been trying to tell you our wars were not merely to replace a white face with a black."
