What inferences can you make about Ponyboy's attitude towards genders and gender roles? How do you know this? How does this affect your response to the male and female characters?

Pony is a sensitive boy. He is respectful of Cherry and Marcia. Pony is a romantic at heart. Pony respects most of his fellow Greasers for their particular traits. I think the reader generally finds Pony a sympathetic character.
