Lady in the Lake - Laura Lippman

End of book/Last chapter

Ferdie says. "I told Jimmy not to do it."

Who is Jimmy? There is no mention of a Jimmy in book. Could Jimmy be a typo and should have been Tommy? Tommy was the bar tender who confessed to murder.

After looking through an etext, I see you are correct. I see no evidence of "Jimmy" anywhere in the novel except... pg. 333. I also looked for James and Jim and came up with nothing except the name of a journalist in the front matter, whose name was Jim Bready in the section titled, The Columnist.

I don't think this was a typo because all editions include the same name.
