Frangipani House depicts the state of old age as being a depressing time, where the elderly are unwanted and passed from one member of the family to the next. Caregivers, specifically, family members are portrayed as uncaring and put out by having the care of a parent or aged family member thrust upon them. In addition, the aged parent becomes isolated and forgotten.
