Where was Zuckerman born and raised as noted in the novel, Zuckerman Unbound?

Zuckerman was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey, but he eventually moved to New York City to pursue a writing career. Zuckerman has fond memories of his childhood and teenage years in Newark, including his first attempts at writing fiction. Alvin Pepler is also originally from Newark, and he sees this as a type of bond between himself and Zuckerman. The demographics of Newark have changed dramatically since the time Zuckerman moved away, and when he goes to visit his old neighborhood at the end of the novel, he sees the neighborhood as quite different from how it was in his childhood.
