Who is Sam Harris in the motion picture, Yankee Doodle Dandy?

Sam Harris is a brilliant young writer and actor. When George first runs into Sam, Sam is thrown out of an office for creating a script that would be too expensive to produce. Later, the two men go into business together, and Sam is able to put on those same shows to ecstatic audiences.
