George M. Cohan was one of America's premier writers and performers. He created such classic songs as "Grand Old Flag" and "Over There." The country was encouraged by his patriotism during the difficult times of World War I. Eventually, he was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for his contribution during this time.
