Who is Jim Greer from Without Remorse and what is their importance?

Jim Greer is a career naval officer assigned to the CIA. He works on Boxwood Green, where he hires Kelly as a consultant for the project, and he is aboard the Ogden when the mission takes place. Greer and Ritter bring the Russian, Grishanov, home with them. When he tells Kelly that he wants him to work for the CIA, Kelly tells him the story of the drug murders. As a result, Greer has him take care of Walter Hicks and helps him establish a new identify so he isn't arrested.
