What does the title have to do with the story?

Witch Child is the story of a fourteen-year-old girl, who leaves England for the Americas after her grandmother is executed as a witch. After her grandmother's hanging, Mary's mother sends her to America to escape persecution. Over the course of the novel, we learn that Mary is a witch..... hence, the title.
