Woody Dewar is the son of Senator Gus Dewar, and is attached to his father's Senate office for most of the war. Following the death of his fiancee, Joanne, at Pearl Harbor, and the death of his brother, Chuck, in the Pacific, Woody joins the Army, fights through Europe, is injured, and returns home to marry a girl named Bella Hernandez.
