Silverspot, the hero of the second story, is the wisest member of a flock of crows that rests on Frank's Castle, a mountain near Toronto. This old chief teaches young crows the art of survival in a dangerous world. Silverspot, however, meets a tragic end in a confrontation with the crows' main enemy, the great homed owl.
