While attending university, Gabriel studies English literature, believing that he could not live without books. Though he remains thoroughly embedded in the South Killy gang throughout his college years, he is devoted to his degree. He especially loves his seminars, believing the classes ideal places to process his dichotomous lives, and to understand the roles instinct, revenge, love, and violence play in the world beyond his academic texts. While on campus, Gabriel is often pictured in deep reflection, contemplating how literature impacts his understanding of himself.
