On Dick's first trading mission, he was sent to negotiate trade with an Arab king who had a palace in Tripoli, now the capital of Libya. The palace was overrun with rats, but Dick's cat quickly showed what a good hunter she was and was basically purchased by the king to help eliminate the rats completely.
