Who is Eduardo in the novel, White Oleander?

Eduardo is the young man with whom Ingrid dances on the hotel rooftop in Playa del Carmen. He owns the hotel, drives a black Volare and, at night, he plays guitar and sings gypsy songs with hotel guests. When the weather turns, Eduardo closes the hotel for the season and goes back to Mexico City, where his parents live.
