Frontera prison is located in Chino. The prison complex is aluminum-sided, like Starr's trailer. The prison's low brick buildings are widely spaced and landscaped with trees and roses and acres of green lawn. It is more like a suburban high school except for the guard towers and the razor wire. One passes the California Institution for Men on its way.
