The White Noise production Harvey convinces himself he will soon be making symbolizes delusion. The production will be based on DeLillo's novel by the same name, and Harvey believes it will restore his former reputation and status. In reality, DeLillo's White Noise is a social commentary on the destructive nature of contemporary culture, elements of which starkly resemble Harvey's gluttonous and exploitative lifestyle.
