Amanda is the beautiful, loyal, and dedicated best friend of Ellie who learns that Sean is a freak, and warns Ellie not to trust him. Amanda even flies to Phoenix to warn Ellie, but Ellie sends her home angrily. Amanda's loyalty is unbroken, however, as she asks Brad to warn Ellie about Sean. In the end of the book, everything is made right.
