As the story unfolds, the Troutt home comes to represent stability, affection, discipline, and respect. It becomes a home for Sequoyah, a place where he learns and acquires positive values, affirming relationships, and ways to safely and healthily inhabit both a sense of self and a sense of comfort with others.
