Mrs. Spring (Whatever Happened to Janie) is the mother of the entire family. She is constantly, and stereotypically, involved in her family's well being. She goes to all of the ballgames, recitals, reads every school paper, and attends all of the PTA meetings. She does not take time to attend to such things as hair, clothes and nails as her 6 children take all of her time. She is a loving and kind parent, but she also is very one dimensional.
