In The Voice on the Radio, Hannah is the oldest daughter of the Johnsons. Unfortunately, having great parents and a privileged lifestyle wasn't enough and she joins a cult. Many years pass by when she turns up on her parents doorstep with a child in hand. The parents never question Hannah about the child and accept the story that Hannah tells them, that Jennie is her child. She leaves the child with them saying that they will be better parents than she could hope to be. After leaving Jennie (Janie) at her parent's home, Hannah disappears.
