What is the main setting in the novel, What To Do About The Solomons?

The kibbutz is the primary location in the novel, as it is the place where the Solomons originated and where the majority still reside. A community founded on communist principles, the early kibbutz is marked by its dedication to sharing and working hard for limited resources. In its infancy, the kibbutz was under constant attack from invaders. During the same time, resources and security were shared with Arab neighbors, primarily to fight off the Jordanian and Syrian invaders.

Under Yakov Solomon's guidance, the kibbutz grew and was modernized due to his shrewd investments and business acumen. The kibbutz then bceame a place where characters gather and confront each other and themselves. Though it still thrives, the kibbutz is primarily a residence for the older generation, as the younger characters, such as the generation of Marc, have made their homes elsewhere.
