What is the author's style in the novel, What My Mother Doesn’t Know?

Sonya Sones writes her novel, What My Mother Doesn't Know, in one, long narrative, unbroken by chapters, parts, or any kind of division save the events that transpire every few pages. This gives the novel a stream of consciousness feel, and a much more intimate nature, as if Sophie is relating all of the events of the past year to the reader as though the reader were simply a friend listening to a story, and not reading a book.
