What Is Not Yours Is Not Yours
How is London portrayed in the short story collection, What Is Not Yours Is Not Yours?
.
.
London is a frequent implied backdrop in a number of the stories. In “presence,” both Jill Akkermann and Jacob Wallace live in London together. They frequently talk on the Tube, a symbol of the city’s bustling economic and social life. In “a brief history of the homely wench society,” several of the characters also ride the London Tube. Contrasted with the uppity, predominantly white history of Cambridge, London is portrayed as multicultural, cosmopolitan, and globally connected.
