What is the importance of Franklin Hospital in the novel, What Happened to Lani Garver?

Franklin Hospital is the hospital in Philadelphia where Claire receives her leukemia testing without parental permission. Lani takes her to this hospital because it's equipped to deal with runaways and homeless people, performing tests and treating illnesses for individuals that might fall through the cracks at traditional hospitals.
