When the famous Nigerian singer Ọla sings a song about Sandayọ on television she refers to him as "a man imprisoned for trying to do good in...Nigeria" (263), his plight receives global attention. Sandayọ became "an overnight sensation" (274), and there were marches all over the world demanding his release from prison.
