Why does Lizzie feel out of place at work in the book, Weather: A Novel?

Because Lizzie dropped out of college and therefore did not receive a degree, she technically does not meet the requirements for the job. Though Lizzie carries out her duties just as well as everyone else, there are times when she feels her degree holding co-workers do not think she belongs there. This sometimes makes Lizzie feel out of place.
