We Are the Ants
What do ants represent in the novel, We Are the Ants?
.
.
The ants are a symbol that Henry references at both the beginning and end of the novel. At first, Henry sees them as an example of how little life matters as nobody ever pays attention to the ants. In the end, however, he sees the ants as an example of how important it is for humans to keep moving forward even if nobody acknowledges them. The ants themselves did not change. The end is still coming and they are still a small speck in the wider universe. Still, they survive and thrive, just as humans will continue to do.
