Describe the hotel in Las Vegas from the novel, Wayward Son?

The group stays at the Katherine, a hotel that is obviously run for and by vampires. That setting is described in detail, including that there are bird cages in the lobby and all the birds are black. The carpet in the lobby is the color of blood, and their room is “only mostly black” (230) with pinks and gray. Baz roams Las Vegas with a vampire named Lamb and discovers that the city is filled with vampires who freely roam and feed in the open.
