How is the meaning of the images in Chapter 6 on pages 120 and 121, that depict daily life, of any significance?

In the images on pages 120 and 121 there is nothing extraordinary or symbolic, nor is there any particularly meaningful message to be garnered from any of these early sixteenth century paintings. They are indicative of the times and how people lived then.
