What was the author's purpose in the novel, War with the Newts?

Written early during WWII, Capek's purpose was to warn his readers about the dangers of the Nazi agenda. When Hitler's campaign of political and military intimidation continued unopposed, it became painfully clear that Capek's warnings had fallen on deaf ears.
