Victor tells Lissa that she has specialized, and that her school of magic is the fifth type, spirit. Using her magic drains her spirit, and will eventually kill her. Victor reveals that Lissa actually brought Rose back from the dead, just as she did the raven. Vladimir and Ms. Karp also specialized in spirit magic.
