What is the importance of Nevrast in Unfinished Tales: The Lost Lore of Middle-earth?

Nevrast is an abandoned elven city close to the shore of the Great Sea. Turgon and his people used to live here. It is bordered by mountains to the north and to the east. The climate is milder here than inland. Tuor finds it to be a pleasant place because of its climate and the plentiful food, so he spends several days here.
