Why does Elizabeth come to the United States as noted in Underground America: Narratives of Undocumented Lives?

Elizabeth, a teacher from Bolivia, came to the U.S. in search of medication that her severely arthritic teenage daughter needed. She ended up in jail and was eventually deported back to Bolivia.
