Open-door plane

When Bosch and Lourdes first visit Jerry Edgar, he warns them about the pill mill's rumored practice of dumping bodies out of a low-flying plane and into the (saltwater) Salton Sea. This illustrates the pill mill's ruthlessness as an organization and the difficulty in legally tying them to wrongdoing. Knowing this anecdote means that Bosch knows he is in danger when he is escorted to an open-door plane while he is undercover (254-260).
