Dmitri Sluchek, a.k.a. "Ivan"

Dmitri Sluchek is one of the heartless bosses of the Southern California "pill mill" operation, and is one of the two murderers of the Esquivel pharmacists. He is mentally referred to as "Ivan" when Bosch goes undercover, as Bosch does not know his real name at the time. Sluchek and his partner Igor Golz take Bosch on a flight over the Salton Sea, intending to kill him by throwing him overboard, but Bosch is able to win a violent fight against Sluchek, killing him with a hidden knife inside of a prop cane. It is later revealed that Sluchek is working for an even larger crime boss from his home country of Belarus.
