Anne de Bueil (Twenty Years After) has been dead almost 20 years when the novel begins. From all accounts she was a monster and bloodthirsty. She attempted to poison her own brother, attempted to assasinate Lord de Weinter. She also caused the death of the Duke of Buckingham as well as countless others. She is finally beheaded by the executioner of betheune by the order of the four musketeers.
