Why does eden fall so deeply in love

Eden is in love with a Roman Catholic college student named Andrew. Andrew and his sister attend revival meetings, where Andrew and Eden first meet.Andrew seems perfect for Eden. He is attractive and believes in the same things as her. They begin a secret relationship because Andrew is nineteen and Eden is sixteen, and the age of consent in Idaho is eighteen. They begin having sex, and eventually, Eden's mother finds out about the relationship. Eden's mother demands she stop seeing Andrew, but Eden refuses to listen. This leads her mother to believe Eden is possessed by demons, and sends her to a youth rehabilitation camp called Tears of Zion.
