What is Antica?

Antica symbolizes a utopian peace that the visitors from Adarlan hope to achieve. Adarlan is in the midst of much chaos and its leaders have supported corrupt policies that take advantage of many marginalized people. In contrast, Antica, also known as the God-city, appears to Chaol, Nesryn, and Yrene as an ideal land of riches, comfort, and safety. The longer they stay in Antica, though, the more they learn that there is much political strife underlying the city’s success.
