Importance of Mrs. Campbell

Mrs. Campbell is the principal at Bug’s new school. Even though Mrs. Campbell has never had an openly transgender student before, she assures Bug and Bug’s mother that Bug will be addressed by male pronouns and will not be made uncomfortable about choosing which bathroom to use. Bug is impressed with Mrs. Campbell’s response because he had believed he would have to defend his identity to her.
